What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Operations team and help take the business’s capability and Operations culture to the next level. We are looking for a versatile, cross-functional engineer with programming skills, extensive levels of IT operational knowledge and the ability to lead a team. The role requires an ability to troubleshoot existing technologies and networks, as well as plan and execute intelligent solutions.

What will I need to succeed?

  • AWS, Cloudformation, EC2, ECS, Autoscaling, ElastiCache (Memcached, Redis), RDS

What would I need to have done before?

  • Extensive experience within Agile SDLC and Operations (e.g. CD, Uptime, BCP/DR, Incident/Problem management)
  • Expert knowledge of tools and technology trends leading the way for improvement and growth (e.g. Kubernetes and Docker in production environments)
  • Recommends / designs structures and tools for processes, applications and technologies which meet business needs
  • Delivers technical visualisation of proposed applications (e.g. Monitoring, alerts & logging)
  • Team leadership ensuring the team is well skilled and trained, ensuring knowledge is shared
  • Identifies and evaluates potential solutions, including demonstrating, installing and commissioning selected products
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team working ethic
  • Implement efficient, reliable and scalable operational architecture to budget
  • Optimizing performance of dynamic websites in intercontinental/high-latency scenarios including support structure and L1/2
